I have pretty much wanted to have a maid my entire life. I never even dreamed of even having a live-in maid! And one that’s affordable….there’s absolutely no way.
Most of you are probably sitting there like I was, thinking there is absolutely no way you can afford one either. But you can!!
Okay, okay. So I call “her” my maid, but she is so much more. She is the best assistant I could ask for, getting things done I don’t have time for, patience for, or even enjoy doing. And she always does it happily, never with a complaint, except maybe that she needs to be emptied.
I hope you’re sitting there confused after that last sentence. Truth is, my maid is my robot vacuum that we named “Lucy” (after the robot maid on the Jetsons). I am seriously obsessed with this thing!! If only I could teach her to do dishes and laundry…then we’d be set! That’s the dream, right?
But until then…the fact that I don’t have to worry about vacuuming my entire house (which is completely tile and needs vacuumed at least every other day since our dogs both shed like CRAZY) is completely amazing and has been such a help in the last year.
After a lot of debate as to whether or not a robot vacuum was worth the cost, if it would work, how it would do with pet hair, and which one we wanted to get, we finally picked one and my parents gifted me a “maid” for Mother’s day last year. Let me tell you…it may be one of the best gifts I have ever received.
I mean, as I sit here and type, she’s vacuuming my entire house! How incredible is that!?
We decided to go with the ECOVACS DEEBOT N79S from amazon and I am so happy with our choice. There are quite a few we were between, and honestly, I don’t think we could have gone wrong with any of them. We looked at the Roomba 675 (my parents have this one and love it! It even vacuumed over dog poop, ruined the vacuum, and Roomba replaced it for free), and the eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S (Slim), but ultimately settled on the ECOVACS one.
I think we may have looked at robot vacuums for at least a full month, and could not decide. Then one day, the ECOVACS went down in price, and we figured, why not? We wanted the capability to use our phones to control it (the eufy did not have this at the time), and read the ECOVACS could store more pet hair than the Roomba. So we went for it.
We have never had any issues, and even were able to find affordable replacement parts for the vacuum (but didn’t even need to replace anything until almost a year of using it).
All this to say…if you are looking for an amazing gift, or just need to simplify something in your life like take away vacuum cleaning, I wanted to share that this has been one of the best purchases we have ever made!!
